1. Nature of the service
Sidewise is a mobile app that uses artificial intelligence to evaluate a dispute described by two parties and provides an entertainment-focused result and a suggestion for reconciliation.
Content provided by Sidewise is not legal, medical, financial, psychological, or other professional advice; it does not replace the decision of a real arbitrator, mediator, professional, or court and is not binding.
2. Eligibility and account-free structure
- Sidewise may be used only by people who are at least 18 years old. If you are under 18, you may not use the service even with permission from a parent or guardian.
- By using the service, you represent that you are at least 18 and legally able to accept this EULA and Terms of Use.
- The app does not require a phone number, email address, username, or password; it creates a random anonymous installation identifier for your device. Account protection with Apple is optional.
- If protection with Apple is not enabled, your dispute history may not transfer to a new installation when you delete the app or change devices.
- You can initiate deletion of data associated with your installation through Settings → Delete Account and Data.
3. User content and conduct rules
You are responsible for narratives, appeals, and other content you enter into the app. You must ensure that what you share is accurate, necessary, and respectful of the rights of others.
You retain your rights in your content. By submitting content to Sidewise, you grant a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license limited to the duration and extent necessary to provide the service, perform safety and moderation checks, display content to the participant you invited when required by the app flow, generate the AI assessment, resolve support requests, and comply with legal obligations. This license permits sublicensing to service providers only to the extent needed for the same purposes and ends when the content is deleted or anonymized, except where continued retention is required for legal or security reasons.
The following content is not allowed:
- Hate speech, harassment, threats, bullying, or insults,
- Content that encourages harm to yourself or others,
- Content that encourages or facilitates illegal activity,
- Defamatory allegations directed at real people,
- Content that reveals a person's identity or private information without their consent,
- Any content that endangers children or involves sexual abuse.
Sidewise has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Content is automatically screened before publication; if screening is unavailable, new content is not published.
From the safety menu on every dispute, you can report content, block a user, or immediately remove the dispute from your own history. Every report is reviewed within 24 hours. When a violation is confirmed, the content is removed and the account that supplied it is suspended. You may also report inappropriate activity directly to the safety team.
4. Privacy and “blind narratives”
Each party's narrative is hidden from the other party until the result is revealed. This structure helps people share their perspective without being influenced by the other person's narrative.
If you choose to share content after the result, you are responsible for the effect of what you share on third parties. Do not publish the other party's text or personal information without their consent.
5. Subscriptions and payments
- Premium subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store and are subject to the store's payment terms.
- Unless stated otherwise on the purchase screen, subscriptions may renew automatically.
- You must use the App Store subscription settings on your device to stop renewal.
- Refund requests are subject to the policies of the store where the purchase was made; Sidewise cannot issue a refund directly on the store's behalf.
6. Artificial intelligence evaluations
AI evaluations are based only on text supplied by the parties and are generated probabilistically. The result is not guaranteed to be complete, error-free, fair, or unbiased. Incomplete, exaggerated, or inaccurate narratives may directly affect the result.
Do not use a Sidewise result as the sole basis for important decisions. In serious situations involving violence, threats, abuse, crime, health, or legal disputes, contact the relevant professionals and authorities.
7. Restricting access to the service
Accounts that violate these terms or applicable law, threaten service security, or harm other users may be suspended or permanently terminated. When an objectionable-content or abusive-conduct report is confirmed, the relevant content is removed and the responsible user is ejected from the service.
8. Limitations of liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free operation or compatibility with every device.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Sidewise is not liable for damages arising from real disputes between users, users' actions, decisions made in reliance on an AI result, or the sharing of content with third parties.
9. Changes to the service and these terms
Sidewise's features and these terms may be updated from time to time. For material changes, notice is provided within the app; the current text's date is shown at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after a change may mean that you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without prejudice to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts and authorities designated by applicable law have jurisdiction over disputes.
