Data we do not collect
Sidewise does not access your location, contacts, photo library, camera, or microphone. It does not use your data for advertising targeting.
3. How we use data
- Securely associate your anonymous installation with your disputes and usage entitlements,
- Evaluate both parties' narratives and generate the AI referee result,
- Detect inappropriate, harmful, or illegal content and protect community safety,
- Send a notification when a result is ready,
- Manage subscription and Premium access status,
- Protect the service and meet legal obligations.
4. Service providers and international transfers
Limited data may be shared with the following service providers so Sidewise can operate:
| Service provider | Purpose | Data transferred |
|---|---|---|
| OpenAI | Content moderation and AI evaluation | Dispute text separated into Party A and Party B narratives |
| Google Firebase | Notifications and app reliability | Notification token and limited technical diagnostics |
| RevenueCat | Subscription verification | Anonymous app identifier and subscription status |
| Apple / Google | Purchase and subscription management | Payment information is processed directly by the store |
These service providers may operate infrastructure outside Türkiye. Where an international transfer is required, we act in accordance with the conditions prescribed by applicable law and the choices you make in the app.
5. Retention, anonymization, and deletion
Dispute records are retained until you delete them or request deletion of your data from within the app. You can initiate deletion of data associated with your anonymous installation through Settings → Delete Account and Data.
To preserve the integrity of a shared dispute record and the rights of the other participant, some records may be anonymized so they can no longer be associated with your identity. Limited records that must be retained for security or legal obligations are deleted or anonymized when the required period ends.
6. Your rights
Depending on the laws that apply to you, you may have the right to learn whether your personal data is processed; request information about its purpose and recipients; request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data; request deletion or destruction when the relevant conditions are met; and object to certain processing.
Send your request and the minimum information needed to associate it with your Sidewise installation to [email protected].
7. Children's privacy
Sidewise is available only to users who are at least 18 and is not directed to children. An 18+ confirmation is required during onboarding; people under 18 may not use the service even with permission from a parent or guardian.
If you believe a child's data has been processed unlawfully, a parent or legal guardian may request deletion or anonymization at [email protected]. Do not include dispute narratives or unnecessary child data in the first email; we will request the minimum information needed for verification through an appropriate channel.
8. Security
We use technical and administrative measures such as encryption in transit, secure session architecture, access restrictions, and abuse-prevention controls to protect data. However, no transmission of data over the internet can be guaranteed to be absolutely secure.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the service or applicable law. For material changes, we provide an appropriate notice in the app and update the revision date at the top of this page.
